師母檢查報告及代禱事項

感謝神，竹君師母 Proton Therapy 主治醫師 Dr. Loredo 發表了有關師母腦瘤的最新檢查報告：過去八個月來，師母的腦瘤沒有增長！雖然也未見縮小，但至少目前沒有增生就是好消息！

          Dr. Loredo表示：師母的腦瘤是否完全得到控制，要用更長的時間來觀查，也請大家為這事持續代禱！另外，竹君師母過去五個月一再出現的痙攣﹑失憶．．．等等症狀，也是預期中的反應，目前只有靠葯物來控制；此外師母歷來的頭痛及便袐等問題，亦需要大家代禱，求神醫治並保守．竹君師母將於六個月後，再進行下一次的追蹤複查．

          感謝神帶領Esther 姐妹來照顧竹君師母，可是她現在只能於週一﹑三﹑五做半職工；求主憐憫，邱會長於二月底三月初遠行亞洲時，Esther能轉為每週五天的工作，以便專注照料師母，好讓會長在外事奉時，無後顧之憂！

          請大家為邱會長一家代禱：

師母全身疼痛 袁姨要走了

竹君師母12/7自醫院返家後，全身疼痛，頭部﹑頸部﹑腹部﹑腰部及下背部都非常疼痛；自己無法起床，也需要人餵食，並需使用尿布。12/17更換一位家庭醫師，初步檢查後，推斷可能是腦瘤再長的後遺症的關係；現已排定一連串再次詳細的覆查，請大家繼續為師母的身體狀況代禱。求主親自安慰醫治！

       一直以來照顧師母的袁姨，因為要回中國探視年邁母親，將於12/31/2008離職。請大家迫切為竹君師母能快快找到另一合適的照顧人選代禱。求主恩待，求主賜福，求主帶領一位有愛心與耐心的姐妹能在新的年度開始時去照顧師母。在美國灣區的弟兄姐妹，您若有合適的人選可推薦，請速與邱會長聯絡

親愛的代禱勇士們平安：

　　由於美國家新總幹事林明樞夫婦外出帶領營會，此段時間暫代竹君師母日誌的更新。
　　竹君師母手術後產生一些思想、情緒上不穩定的現象，並且胃口奇佳，不停的想吃東西，以致產生嚴重的便秘，及情緒高亢不合作的狀況，昨日傷口不慎撕裂，差一點要送往急診。

　　面對竹君師母的狀態，邱會長和Caleb 身心疲乏，無法好好休息。感謝大家的代禱，Caleb的感冒已好多了，但邱會長牙痛的問題仍然存在，目前暫時用止痛藥壓制。這是一場艱辛、漫長的戰役，不過深信我們的主是全能的主！醫治的主！聽禱告的主！請繼續為邱會長全家代禱。如果您覺得有負擔，也請回應剛發起的四十天「連鎖禁食禱告」。

哈利路亞！感謝主！竹君師母有一些進步了！請繼續為竹君師母及邱家迫切代禱！

親愛的代禱勇士及關心竹君的家新人們：                 　　　　　Feb. 3, 11:20 PM PST

　　哈利路亞！感謝主！祂垂聽了眾弟兄姐妹的禱告。竹君師母逐漸進步中，今天她的血壓和脈搏比較正常，不需再輸血，醫師也停止注射鎮靜劑。當會長帶她禱告，告訴她如果知道就張開她的右眼，她也睜開一下她的右眼簾。會長表示她的全身和頭部的腫脹，比起前幾天已經消退了一些，手腳也比昨天暖和多了，表示她的血液循環系統正在恢復中。
　　不過醫生試圖要除去呼吸器，但是發現她仍然無法自行呼吸，所以又插了回去，所以我們大家仍需迫切的為竹君師母禱告神！按照神話語的權柄，宣告竹君腦中的血塊能夠儘速消失，血塊對她不致帶來任何的傷害。她的全身、手腳及頭部的腫脹要完全的消除，她要很快的完全恢復知覺，沒有任何的痛苦，她不需要借助外力，她可以自行呼吸，她要得到完全的醫治，她的眼睛要能夠看見，她的聽覺和嗅覺都要恢復！
　　邱家的大兒子舒亞 (Joshua) 在South Carolina感染感冒，肺衰竭的癥候再度出現。小兒子醒亞 (Caleb) 目前在南加陪伴會長，也感染重感冒，身體較為衰弱。會長當然更是承受極大的壓力，也請繼續迫切為他們代禱，求主堅固他們的信心，徹底摧毀撒旦的計謀與攻擊。
　　賽 53:5 因祂受的刑罰，我們 (竹君) 得平安；因祂受的鞭傷，我們 (竹君) 得醫治。

Special Prayer Requests from Nia

Dear Family & Friends,

Thank you for upholding the surgery & my mom in your prayers.  He is answering.  Praise God!

Sorry that I am unable to answer everyone personally.  Here's a summary of the latest update & more specific prayer requests.

Mom's surgery went pretty smooth.  Throughout the day, the doctors gave updates & each time they shared that she was doing well & her vitals were fine.  The surgeons removed 60% of her tumor & the other 40% was too close to major arteries so they could not touch it.  They will probably try to remove the rest of the tumor with Proton Therapy after her recovery.  The doctors decided not to remove her left eye which was Mom's desire & prayer.  And because of that, her surgery didn't require removing muscle, blood vessels & nerves from other parts of the body to transplant for the eye surgery.  Praise God for answering this prayer too!  Her surgery finished around 12 midnight yesterday and she was admitted to the ICU.  Around 5:30 a.m. this morning, they did an emergency central venous catheter (CVC or central venous line) procedure for increased viability of intravenous drugs/fluids to her heart in order to help her regain consciousness sooner & to help her breathe on her own.  This afternoon, they discovered a blood clot in her brain so currently they are monitoring that.  Her blood pressure is still low & there's a lot of swelling in the face.  Mom needs to be incubated for a while until the swelling goes down because they want to monitor & make sure the swelling will not block/restrict her airways.  She is currently still not conscious or responding to my Dad or brother, Caleb,  although she's moving around a little more.  The hospital staff is keeping her sedated because they are monitoring her breathing & it's uncomfortable to have tubes in the throat.  She's also receving transfusions to put more blood & platelets in.  Her vital signs are all currently stable.

Please pray:

1) The blood clot in her brain will go away on its own so that Mom won't need to re-experience the trauma of surgery.

2) That the swelling in her brian/face will go down & that she would be able to regain consciousness, breathe on her own & that her blood pressure will be normal.

3) That her recovery process will be quick & there would be no side effects

4) That God will restore her vision, hearing & sense of smell.

Josephine's Situation

Hi Friends,

Thanks for your prayers. Here's some new info. I found out the doctors' names. And more details on the surgery.

1. Dr. Stewart, Otolaryngologist, Head & Neck Surgery & Microvasular Reconstruction specialist. He'll be doing these 4 things: 1) removing the non-functional left eye ball & clear the tumor around the eye ball 2) saw through the left forehead & left cheekbone in order to remove tumor & replace with platinum 3)Take off 12×2 cm muscle & smsall blood vessels & nerve from left leg to implant into the eye socket 4) make an incision from the left ear to the left shoulder for re-connecting blood vessels. Dr. John Kim & Dr. Paul Kim, Facial Plastic Reconstructive surgery & Craniomaxillofacial & cranial base Surgery experts will be assisting Dr. Stewart.
2. 1/29 my mom will have an appointment with the Anesthesiologist for pre-admission check-up (heart, lung, blood, EKG, etc. tests). He will also determine the location of the tumor & the amount of anesthetic to use.
3. 1/30 My mom will check-in at noon and will do a MRI & an Embolization procedure with Dr. George Luh an Interventional Neuroradiologist. He will insert tubes from the right leg & the abdomen into the main blood vessels circling around the heart, neck & into the brain area where the tumor is to prepare for the next days surgery in case of hemorraging, then all the emergency procedures will be in place to help stop the bleeding. I will fly down to be with my mom on this day in the morning and come back at night.
4. 1/31 The main brain surgeon is Dr. Frank Hsu. He's a Cerebrovascular & Skull Base Surgeon & he’s also a Christian. he will be responsible from cutting the skull from the left ear to the right ear & removing 70% of the tumor.

Please pray that:

1. My mom will recover her eysight fully in her right eye & that she can hear again in her left ear & be able to smell again—for God's complete healing.
2. On 1/23, my brother, Joshua had a lung collapse episode while sitting in class at Duke University. We have prayed against this spiritual attack & praise God that he is feeling much better and had not needed to be hospitalized. Please continue to pray for his healing & for his faith to be strengthened.
3. Please pray that my youngest brother, Caleb, will be healed from his sinus infection as he has plans to head down to LA today/tomorrow to be with my mom & dad.
4. I have plans to fly down on 1/30 & again on 2/2-3. Please pray for Jonathan as he takes care of the the kids, especially Ethan for it'll be his first overnight without me (& without nursing) on 2/2.
5. Please pray for all the above procedures & pre-operation appointments, that everything will go smoothly & that the anesthesiologist will have the right amount of medication for my mom. Pray also for the Hematologist to have the wisdom to provide the right amount of blood thinner/thickener for my mom in order to prevent the clotting that happend 5 years ago when she had her first brain surgery.
6. Pray for no side-effects & a speedy recovery for my mom.
7. Pray also for living arrangments, food & help & other logistics during her recovery phase.

And please praise God with us for we know that He hears our prayers & may He be glorified through all this.
